4 Quick Tips To Maintain Motivation And Healthy Habits During The Holidays

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And, it’s the most jam-packed time of the year too, isn’t it?!  Here are a few of our fa-la-la favorite tips and tricks to keep you feeling motivated and remaining on track over the busy holiday season, even when life gets busy.

 1.    Drink Water: Something that you can ADD (rather than taking away) and the MORE, the BETTER? Sign us up! When we are hydrated, our bodies function better, we have more energy, and we avoid overeating. Win. Win. Win. Drink more water – do it!

2.    Make the Most of your Time: Find time to move, even if it isn’t a scheduled class or as long as you normally would. Busy times also mean more stress, and in our opinion the best stress reliever is a good dose of sweat. Check out our strength/cardio combination training exercises from Week Two to get the most bang for however many minutes you can carve out.

3.    Get Your Family Involved: Speed walking while shopping at the mall. A family date to the trampoline park. Practicing dance moves together for the holiday recital. If the kiddos are home from school, get them involved, too! Not only will it help you check this off your to-do list, but its quality, fun time with them – and is demonstrating to their growing minds the importance of self care and healthy habits.

4.    Good is Better Than Perfect: Its okay if you get 15 minutes instead of 50. Its okay if you have to go a little easier because the celebration last night went past your normal bed time. Its okay if you need to pivot and switch up your schedule a bit, to accommodate this special time of year and the memories made within it that are the most important of all. What isn’t okay – is quitting on yourself. You’ve come this far now, keep showing up for yourself and finding ways to fit in your self-care. You can do it!!
